FAQs

Do I need to have my Ducted Vacuum System serviced regularly?

Regular maintenance is important to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of your ducted vacuum system. While it is true that a regular service may not be necessary, there are some key maintenance tasks that we recommend for both bagged and bagless systems.

For bagged systems, it is essential to change the bag as soon as you notice a reduction in suction. Overfull bags can strain the motor and decrease its lifespan. Additionally, we suggest cleaning the inside of the drum when you change the bag to remove any dust or dirt that could be drawn into the motor. In bagged systems, the bag itself acts as the filter, so changing the bag also means changing the filter.

For bagless systems, it is important to clean the filter each time you empty the drum. A clogged filter can reduce suction and put strain on the motor. While cleaning the filter is acceptable, it is recommended to replace it every few years. Over time, the filter can deteriorate and the pores can become clogged, making it less efficient. Neglecting to clean or replace the filter can result in reduced performance and may require a service visit to address the issue.

By following these maintenance guidelines, you can ensure that your ducted vacuum system operates at its best and avoid unnecessary service visits. If you have any questions or need assistance with maintenance tasks, feel free to reach out to our team for guidance.

Can you install a Ducted Vacuum System in an established home?

Certainly! If you're considering installing pipework in your home, we can help. Our typical installation process involves placing the pipework in the roof space and running it down inside cupboards or walk-in robes. In some cases, we can even install the pipework inside the walls by making a small hole in the back and patching it up afterward. To discuss the installation options further, please give us a call at 8362 0092. We'll be happy to assist you!

Can you install a Ducted Vacuum machine into a cupboard?

Absolutely! For proper cooling of the power unit and effective ventilation of the air extracted from the house (approximately 60-80 litres per second), it is essential to have sufficient airflow around the motor and a pathway for clean air to escape. We highly recommend installing air vents at both the top and bottom of the cupboard. This will facilitate the circulation of air around the machine, ensuring the power unit stays cool, while allowing clean air to exit. Adequate airflow is crucial to prevent overheating and maintain the system's efficiency. If you have any further inquiries or require assistance with the installation process, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Can you convert a standard ducted vacuum system to a Chameleon retractable Ducted Vacuum system?

We have the capability to transform most standard systems into retractable ones. You have the option to convert a single inlet, preferably the most frequently used one, such as the kitchen area, or you can choose to convert the entire system. By doing so, you won't have to worry about finding a place to store the hose anymore. It effortlessly retracts up the wall and stores itself in the pipework.
